SEASON UPDATE
NEXT PRACTICE: Sunday 11/25/07 at the High School at 10:30am.
Practices for the season will be Thursday 6pm-7:15pm and Saturday 3:45pm-5:00pm at the Middle School. We will start this schedule on 11/29/07.
And no, your eyes were not deceiving you. This year the fee for the season is $200.00 due by the first game (12/2/07). Greg and I attended a metting last Wednesday where we saw how the fee was calculated ... basically, there are 133 players in Dedham MetroWest this year, and league expenses are roughly $26,600 ... that's $200 per head. For roughly 30 practices and 15 games, that's still pretty much a bargain (under $5/hour). I know this is a significant increase over last year (an additional $65 is nearly a 50% increase), but you can be assured that it is based solely on direct cost (referees, gyms, etc.).
I will be making some calls next week to see if we can identify a sponsor for the team in order to at least defray the cost of the winter tournament. We're sorry to pass along the news of the fee increase, but hopefully we will provide all of your daughters with an experience that will justify the expense.
